After being diagnosed with the extremely rare and incurable neurological condition “Stiff Person Syndrome” (SPS) in late 2022, the singer—best known for “My Heart Will Go On”—was forced to cancel all her world tours. This condition causes severe muscle spasms and stiffness in the limbs, and can even affect vocal cord function. However, after four years of intensive treatment and rehabilitation, Celine appears in excellent spirits in her latest video, admitting that while the battle against the disease has been extremely difficult, she has never given up on her dream of singing.
Celine has chosen the Paris La Défense Arena for her first comeback performance and plans to hold 10 residency shows. To ensure her body can withstand the high-intensity performances, her team has scheduled the entire run to be completed within five weeks. Celine revealed that she is currently undergoing intensive physical therapy and professional vocal exercises five days a week. Paris’s iconic Eiffel Tower even lit up with a tribute message in the night sky, enthusiastically welcoming her return.
