Trump warned that if Iran does not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, the U.S. will “completely destroy” its energy facilities, including major power plants, further escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran.

Reports indicate that Iran responded by saying that if the U.S. attacks its power system, it will retaliate against energy and water facilities in neighboring Gulf countries. Analysts noted that attacking the power grid could cause widespread blackouts, affecting refineries, export facilities, and military command systems, posing a serious threat to regional energy supply.

At the same time, military conflict in the region continues to intensify. Air raid sirens sounded in multiple locations across Israel, reportedly due to missile attacks launched by Iran, injuring dozens, after which Israeli forces carried out retaliatory strikes on Tehran. The Iranian parliament speaker warned that if Iran’s energy facilities are damaged, critical infrastructure across the Middle East could face “irreversible harm.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the relevant facilities are rebuilt, and threatened to restrict the passage of certain vessels. Shipping data show that many commercial ships remain stranded in the strait, with only a few allowed to pass under coordination.

On the market side, the situation has created uncertainty over energy supply, causing fluctuations in international oil prices and financial markets. Analysts pointed out that the current situation is already putting pressure on the global energy supply chain, and attacks on regional natural gas facilities earlier have further increased market uncertainty.

Observers believe that with escalating military deployments and sharp rhetoric, the next 48 hours will be a critical period, and the direction of the situation remains highly uncertain.
