Victoria’s Work-From-Home Bill Delayed Until After Election

Victorian Premier Ben Carroll announced that the state government’s bill granting employees the right to work two days a week from home will be delayed until after the election.

He stated that this move is part of a commitment to “rebuilding” relations with the business community to ensure the bill is not implemented before July 1, 2027.

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed Premier Carroll’s decision to postpone the bill’s implementation. Chief Executive Curtain reiterated that the government should abandon the bill altogether and expressed hope that he could persuade Carroll to “abandon this disruptive measure,” claiming it is completely unnecessary and costly for Victorian businesses.
