QLD: Positive results of the virus that causes COVID-19 have been found more than 100 times in tests of sewage in Queensland since July 2020.

Queensland Health data reveals virus fragments were detected 110 times in wastewater between July and December.

ACT: ACT Health is urging the community to get tested for COVID-19 if they have even the mildest of symptoms, with fragments of the virus being detected in ACT’s wastewater (sewage) for the first time.

The positive detection was found in a sewage sample collected on 27 January 2021 from the Belconnen wastewater testing location.

VIC: An urgent coronavirus virus alert has been issued for three new suburbs in Melbourne’s west after fragments were found at the Werribee wastewater treatment plant.

Residents and recent visitors to Tarneit, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing have been urged to get tested even if mild COVID-19 symptoms develop after viral fragments were detected on February 25.

SA: SA Health made the announcement on 7 March and said the result may have come from a medi-hotel resident or an old case who is still “shedding”.

Deputy Public Health Officer Chris Lease said the “very strong reading” had come from north-eastern part of Adelaide’s CBD, north of Pirie Street.
