Federal Infrastructure Minister Catherine King has ordered a review of major Commonwealth-funded projects, like Western Sydney Airport and Inland Rail, due to concerns over links to organised crime, following the CFMEU scandal.

Allegations include criminal infiltration, kickbacks from building companies, and misuse of taxpayer money.

Some charities, including the Flicker of Hope Foundation and Autism-support charity Amaze, are reassessing their ties with the union amid the controversy.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has opposed deregistering the CFMEU, arguing for regulatory reform instead.

The Victorian government has appointed Greg Wilson to review allegations, while Premier Jacinta Allan has referred matters to Victoria Police and anti-corruption agencies.
