This guide has been created to provide helpful information about food access programs, services and resources within the City of Melbourne and surrounding suburbs

 

RISE (Refugees Survivors & Ex-Detainees)

Emergency relief is available for refugees and asylum seekers to assist them in establishing new lives in Australia. Aid includes food vouchers.

Carry On Victoria, Head Office

Provides emergency relief in the form of food vouchers and financial assistance for outstanding household expense accounts for ex-service men and women and their families.

Women’s Worker – The Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614

Provides support for women who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or those who are vulnerable and living in the metropolitan Melbourne area.

Support includes material aid in the form of food parcels, clothing, MYKI cards, use of telephones, phone chargers and internet access.

Drop-In Centre: Community Pantry

Material aid in the form of food parcels is available for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, those who are marginalised, disadvantaged and in need. The drop-in centre offers those who are isolated the ability to engage with others on their terms. This service is temporarily limited with varied conditions and social distancing measures in place.

 

X Marks The Spot Outreach Assistance Program

Provides outreach assistance for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Emergency relief is available in the form of clothing, food parcels, blankets, pillows, toiletries and sanitary items. A group of volunteers also provide support and assistance at various other times and locations in the Melbourne district of Victoria. Donations are most welcome and a range of collection points are also available
